Overview

Low-temperature plasma is the fourth state of matter after solid, liquid, and gaseous states, and when the applied voltage reaches the discharge voltage of the gas, the gas is broken down, producing a mixture including electrons, various ions, atoms, and free radicals.

Although the temperature of the electrons is very high during the discharge process, the temperature of the heavy particles is very low, and the whole system is in a low temperature state, so it is called low-temperature plasma. Low-temperature plasma degradation of pollutants is to use these high-energy electrons, free radicals and other active particles to decompose pollutant molecules in a very short period of time, and subsequent reactions to achieve the purpose of degrading pollutants.

The traditional treatment methods of volatile organic pollutants (VOCs), such as absorption, adsorption, condensation and combustion, are difficult to achieve for low concentration of VOCs, and photocatalytic degradation of VOCs has the problem that catalysts are easy to inactivate. The use of low-temperature plasma to treat VOCs can be exempted from the above conditions, which has very potential advantages.

 

Working Principle

The low-temperature plasma purification equipment is to use high-energy electron rays to activate, ionize and crack the ingredients in the organic exhaust gas. These high-energy electrons have strong oxidation, so as to undergo a series of complex oxidation and other chemical reactions with harmful gases, and finally convert them into harmless gases.
